Štěpán Bahník featured in the Podniko podcast on replicability and open science

Doc. Mgr. et Mgr. Ing. Štěpán Bahník, Ph.D. was a guest on the Podniko podcast by the Faculty of Business Administration at Prague University of Economics and Business, where he discussed the replicability of scientific studies, trust in science, and the role of open science.

In the interview, he addressed the question of why some scientific findings cannot be replicated and why it is important to understand science as a gradual process of verifying knowledge, rather than as a set of conclusions that are valid once and for all. This topic is especially important for the social and behavioural sciences, where research findings often depend not only on the data themselves, but also on how they are analysed, the broader context, and researchers’ decisions.

Štěpán Bahník also discusses the issue of the so-called robustness of results: that is, whether different analysts working with the same data arrive at the same conclusions. According to the research mentioned in the episode, the results of some studies may be sensitive to analytical decisions, which shows why transparency in science is so important.
